Harrogate 2017

BRIDGE IN HARROGATE – SEPT 3RD – 6TH 2017 (3 NIGHTS)

The Crown Hotel has welcomed visitors for centuries… BridgeHols visited the Crown some years ago, and it proved to be a very popular venue. The hotel’s new chef is establishing a deservedly good reputation for his food and reports on TripAdvisor are favourable. Please be aware that car parking is limited.

There are hotels that provide you with a good location, some that are full of history, some that are situated in beautiful surroundings, some with good conference facilities but how many hotels offer all these? Harrogate is blessed with one such establishment. The 300-year-old Crown Hotel is perfectly placed to fulfil all these demands and more.

Centrally located, The Crown is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Harrogate’s most popular sites; Harrogate International Centre, Turkish Baths, Bettys Tea Rooms, Valley Gardens and the picturesque town centre with its fascinating antique shops, richly historic Victorian arcades and interesting boutique shops. The Crown Hotel Harrogate is the perfect location for a bridge break.

The Crown offers a wonderful blend of practicality and traditional luxury. Small gestures can create magic when you stay. Whether it’s the sumptuous bed linen and pure Egyptian cotton towels, or the choice of local suppliers for toiletries, food and drink, little things make a big difference. The Crown is an independent hotel. Come to The Crown, enjoy the unique experience of an historic building and indulge in a touch of luxury.

The Bronte Suite is where we will play bridge – situated just off the main reception, and with 3 large bay windows it’s a lovely, bright and airy room.

Why visit Harrogate?

With a Cathedral City, a Spa town, historic market towns, a World Heritage Site and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all within a few short miles of each other, the Harrogate district provides the perfect base for a varied holiday. Whether you love the great outdoors or prefer shopping and good food, whether your passion is for gardens, history, art, culture or theatre, whether you want white knuckle rides or a leisurely round of golf, this area has it all and more besides.

With so much to enjoy, it is easy to see why the area was voted the happiest place in Britain for two years running! Discover walking tracks, cycle routes and bridle-paths in Nidderdale, Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Masham, Boroughbridge and the Yorkshire Dales. Slip back to ancient times visiting monuments such as Ripon Cathedral, Fountains Abbey, Harrogate’s Turkish Baths or admire the 18th Century elegance of historic houses such as Newby Hall. Stroll through the award winning Valley Gardens or RHS Harlow Carr or mooch around the stylish shops in Harrogate or the independents and galleries in the market towns. Enjoy a pub lunch with stunning views, take tea at the famous Bettys Tea Rooms or enjoy top notch food at one of the many fine restaurants. Festivals, Flower Shows, Fairs and The Great Yorkshire Show pepper the calendar throughout the year so no two weeks are ever the same.
